Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has unveiled a strategic plan to employ drones for surveillance during the upcoming December general elections in the region.
The primary objective, as outlined by Ashie Moore, is to safeguard the security of over two million votes for the party and enhance monitoring measures to prevent potential irregularities.
Recognizing the critical role of securing more than two million votes in the region, the NDC considers this initiative crucial for influencing the election’s overall outcome.
Ashie Moore revealed that comprehensive preparations are already underway, including the training of personnel responsible for operating the drones.
“Next week, we are going to train constituency executives on how to use drones to monitor what happens during the elections,” announced Ashie Moore to an enthusiastic crowd of supporters.
While specific details about the deployment remain undisclosed, Ashie Moore emphasized the party’s unwavering commitment to securing all necessary resources for a seamless electoral process.
The NDC’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, echoed the call for vigilance during the polls.
“One of the key things in this election is going to be vigilance. We can do all the campaigning we want, but if we are not vigilant on the day and don’t cover every polling station with eagle eyes, you will do everything you can and not achieve the objective that you want. So, in Greater Accra, in particular, we want you to cover your polling stations with the best party agents.”
