American rapper and producer Ja Rule has touched down in Ghana following his recent announcement of plans to visit the country last week on X.
Accompanied by his wife and team, the rapper arrived in Ghana on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, to commence the construction of a classroom block at Nuaso Anglican Primary School. This initiative is in collaboration with Pencils of Promise, a well-known US non-profit organization recognized for its global efforts in building schools and promoting educational opportunities.
Ja Rule had previously hinted at his intention to visit the West African nation in a tweet earlier this week.
While the primary aim of his visit is to initiate the construction of the classroom block, Ja Rule also took the opportunity to explore the historic Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park & Mausoleum in Accra, accompanied by his team. During their visit, they learned about the profound impact of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, and delved into the nation’s rich history.
Situated in Accra, the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Mausoleum serve as the final resting place of Ghana’s inaugural President and an advocate for African unity.
The park features a museum showcasing rare artifacts related to Ghana’s struggle for independence, offering visitors a comprehensive understanding of the Sub-Saharan quest for autonomy.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the school construction project is scheduled for today, Wednesday, April 10, at Nuaso in the Eastern Region.
The event will be attended by notable figures including Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Eastern Regional Minister Seth Acheampong.
