“Ghanaian Football Star Inaki Williams Unveils San Mames Hotel in Akyem Achaise
In a noteworthy venture, Ghanaian forward Inaki Williams, associated with Athletic Bilbao, has officially inaugurated the San Mames Hotel in his hometown of Akyem Achaise, Eastern Region. Despite being actively involved in preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with the Black Stars, the footballer’s hotel was commissioned over the weekend.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of the Williams family, along with local traditional and religious leaders. Named after Athletic Bilbao’s home ground, the Estadio San Mames, the hotel boasts world-class amenities, including a sophisticated rooftop bar with mesmerizing views, a well-equipped gym, and meticulously designed standard rooms for a luxurious stay.
Williams, who made headlines in 2022 by switching nationalities from Spain to Ghana, expressed his commitment to representing the Black Stars. His involvement in the AFCON marks his second major tournament with Ghana, following his participation in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The 29-year-old footballer’s declaration of readiness to embrace Ghana’s jersey was accompanied by a strong sense of cultural identity. He affirmed, ‘Today a new challenge begins. From now on, I will defend Ghana’s T-Shirt with all my will whilst I give my best. I am one of the Black Stars.’
Since his switch in nationality, Williams has earned 13 caps for Ghana, contributing with one goal. The opening of the San Mames Hotel stands as a testament to his commitment to both his roots and the local community.”
