The legal proceedings stem from Lilwin’s recent verbal attack on the actress, prompted by her alleged refusal to participate in the Kumawood film industry.
The controversy began about a week ago when Lilwin expressed displeasure with certain comments Martha reportedly made during an interaction with Director Frank Garbin.
In response, Lilwin released a viral video containing harsh and objectionable language directed at Martha.
In light of Lilwin’s actions, Martha Ankomah has pursued legal recourse through her legal representatives.
According to a copy of the summons seen online, Martha is seeking damages of 5 million Ghana cedis for the defamatory statements made by Lilwin.
Additionally, Martha is seeking compensatory damages, citing damage to her reputation resulting from Lilwin’s comments.
The summons highlights Lilwin’s disparaging remarks, including questioning Martha’s status as a star, her affiliation with GTP, and insinuations about her personal life. These statements are deemed defamatory, and the lawsuit seeks redress for the harm inflicted on Martha’s reputation.
In response to the lawsuit, Lilwin took to his social media platforms to share an old viral video featuring Asiedu Nketiah of the NDC, stating, “Any idiot can go to court.”
Lilwin accompanied the video with a caption expressing his stance on the legal action.
